What Amendment? Oh the First one, must of missed it

My entire life I have enjoyed complete religious freedom. It is hard for me to even imagine living in a society where this does not exist. However, I know that this is a fairly rare freedom in the world and an extremely rare freedom in human history. My freedom derives from our founding document:

Amendment 1 - 12/15/1791
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

However the Bible predicts that we will be persecuted. And all freedoms, if not fought for and preserved, are eroded away. There is no better example, in this country, then what is happening in San Diego, California. This has been ground zero for the secularization and liberalization of our society for years. The latest example, a news story is reporting that a pastor and his wife were interrogated by a San Diego County official for having a Bible study in their home.
“Do you have a regular meeting in your home?”
“Do you say amen?”
“Do you pray?”
“Do you say praise the Lord?”
The county employee then notified them they were in violation of county regulations and threatened to fine them if they did not stop their Bible study. The county official was responding to a complaint from a neighbor when his car was hit by one of the people in the Bible study.

I am not surprised by this, the culture war is real and Christians are losing. We must do what we can, stand and fight, hold our ground, and not give in.
